Food Fight is my newest blog and my first attempt at a topic-specific blog. Here I intend to write about food: nutrition, food policy, organic and local foods, recipes, and anything else related to food.
Why? I found that on my personal blog, Life in the hornline, about half of my posts were about food. So I thought that I should focus those posts over here. I also hope to write about the many online resources that I have found about nutrition and food education for kids.
Wish me luck!

My boyfriend has been doing a lot of research on the effects/impact of diet specifics on the immune system and overall health, it’s certainly opened my eyes, and I wasn’t even a junk-food eater before, certainly less so now.
I’m looking forward to reading more of your thoughts on the subject.
Comment by Nancy September 7, 2006 @ 7:53 pmdiet & the immune system? intrinsically linked. Nutrition and medicine overlap so much that it’s hard to tell one from the other.
As for which foods strengthen the immune system, I’m afraid I can’t say, I’m no nutritionist/dietician/herbologist/chef.
my intuition dictates lots of garlic and ginger, lots of tea.
I think the best thing we can do for our immune system is to give it some time to relax. Cutting back on: processed foods; genetically modified or pesticided produce; excess wheat and soy; chemical additives like aspartame and msg; stimulants like sugar, caffeine and nicotene; alcohol; polluted air, according to one’s body’s needs (as opposed to its wants).
more water.
what do you think?
